ALBUQUERQUE’S OWN AFRICAN YOUTH CHOIR WILL BE IN CONCERT IN ALBUQUERQUE

Join the Matunda Ya Yesu African Youth choir as they perform uplifting African traditional gospel songs and dance at the Los Altos Christian Church, 11900 Haines Avenue NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico, 87112. The choir will be joined by Lungile and Nkazi Sinandile, husband and wife vocal recording husband wife-team ( South African Orion Duet).

Matunda Ya Yesu African Choir is made up of refugee youth who were born and lived in squalid refugee camps in Mozambique, Tanzania and Rwanda and have been resettled in Albuquerque by the State and Lutheran Family Services. One of the choir members is a young person born in Albuquerque. This will be a ninety minute hour explosion of song and dance performed by the choir.

Lungile Sinandile the founder and choir director and his wife have created MATUNDA YA YESU YOUTH CHOIR to assist underprivileged refugee youth resettling in Albuquerque keep them off the streets and give them a chance to live a dream. Singing their traditional songs helps them to heal from emotional wounds of living in squalid refugee camps. Matunda Ya Yesu African Youth Choir not only celebrates resilience of the youth, it elevates the human spirit.
